PPC Veterinary Appraisals and Sales, Inc. is a licensee of Professional Practice Consultants, Ltd. (PPC). PPC Veterinary Appraisals and Sales, Inc. was founded by James E. Baxley, Jr., DVM to serve the appraisal and practice brokerage needs of veterinarians in the Southeastern U.S.

Consulting services are provided to veterinarians in selling, buying, or starting new veterinary practices. Clients who list practices with PPC or request practice appraisals receive detailed valuation reports that include a site visit to verify the practice's ability to deliver and transfer good will. Potential buyers receive notifications of listings that match their interest profile on a regular basis.

PPC has a strong working relationship with several well-known practice acquisition lenders and will facilitate the lending process from beginning acquisition through to practice closing. Other services provided by PPC include associate buy-in, annual practice valuation, and equity development planning for practicing veterinarians.Dr. Baxley received his Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University in 1981. He was a cum laude graduate of University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine where he received his DVM degree in 1985. While at University of Georgia, Dr. Baxley was awarded the Dean Emeritus Thomas I Jones Cup, the highest honor given a senior student for demonstrating leadership and academic excellence throughout veterinary school. He also completed post-doctoral graduate work at Purdue University in 1992-1993.

For over 11 years Dr. Baxley has been a practicing veterinarian in both the Southeast and Midwest. The scope of his practice has included working in a group mixed animal practice, doing locum tenens relief work, and building his own successful small animal veterinary hospital that grew from a newly established solo practice to a thriving, competitive two doctor practice in two years time. This combination of experience gives Dr. Baxley valuable insight into all facets of veterinary practice and business operations. He is a member of the AVMA, SCAV, IVMA, and a founding member of the Veterinary Practice Sales Group (VPSG).

Dr. Baxley currently lives in Lexington, South Carolina with his wife, Libby, a university professor, and their two children, Carrie and James. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, and gardening.
